The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, directed the revival of the City Gas projects in Tripoli and Benghazi, and the expansion of the General Company for Gas Transmission and Distribution's operations to include various Libyan cities and regions.

During the first technical and financial meeting held at the NOC's Tripoli headquarters with the company today, Suleiman emphasized the importance of leveraging its capabilities and expertise in implementing gas transmission and distribution projects and developing infrastructure, which will contribute to improving services and reducing project implementation costs.

The meeting discussed the most significant obstacles facing the City Gas projects in Tripoli and Benghazi, in addition to the gas pipeline project from the Al-Faragh field to the Sarir Gas Power Plant, and ways to expedite their implementation.

The NOC Chairman also stressed the need to enhance integration among relevant entities, while prioritizing safety standards and risk assessment in all projects and operational activities.

It is worth noting that the General Company for Gas Transmission and Distribution recently joined the subsidiaries of the National Oil Corporation, in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (268) of 2026.
