Tripoli’s Mitiga International Airport Administration announced last Thursday (2 April) that it had welcomed a high-level delegation from Air Cairo on the same day, accompanied by the General Manager and the Director of Malouk Al Rahab Company, as part of the final arrangements for resuming flights between Cairo and Mitiga airports.
The airport administration said the visit included an extensive meeting with the airport’s General Manager and his Deputy, in the presence of directors of relevant departments and security officials.
All operational and technical procedures were reviewed to ensure the airport’s complete readiness. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on fulfilling all necessary requirements to pave the way for the resumption of direct flights, guaranteeing the safety and smooth flow of operations and providing the best possible services to passengers.
It will be recalled that Air Cairo is a low-cost, budget subsidiary that is 60% owned by EgyptAir. It is designed for regional, charter, and short-haul flights to the Middle East and Europe. For short flights, Air Cairo offers lower prices and often uses Terminal 1, while EgyptAir provides a full-service experience on longer, international routes.
