Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC), in partnership with the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies and in cooperation with the United Nations Elections Support Team in Libya, held an international scientific conference under the title “Problems of Reluctance to Participate in the Libyan Elections”, with the participation of a group of academics, researchers and experts.
In the opening session, in the presence of HNEC Chairman, Imad Al-Sayeh, and the President of the Academy, Ramadan Al-Madani, the speakers stressed that the electoral abstention is linked to political, social and economic complexities that require comprehensive treatments based on scientific studies to rebuild trust between citizens and institutions.
The conference aims to diagnose the reality of electoral participation and formulate practical recommendations that contribute to enhancing the turnout for upcoming elections and supporting stability through the ballot boxes.
