The National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) Director of Health, Safety, and Environment held a meeting yesterday at its Tripoli headquarters with a delegation from the European Union. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, specializing in cooperation between Libya and the European Union, were also present.
The meeting reviewed the partnerships the NOC has established with European oil and gas companies operating in Libya and ways to develop them. Discussions also focused on expanding cooperation in reducing gas emissions, leveraging the expertise of leading companies in renewable energy production, and strengthening the NOC’s role in the energy transition.
For their part, the EU delegation members expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Chairman and members of the NOC Board of Directors aimed at improving and developing technical capabilities to reduce gas flaring and emissions. They commended the NOC and its subsidiaries for their commitment to including this issue in their strategic plans.
