Libya Travel and Tourism Exhibition opened with international participation‎ – increased number of tourists, hotel stays and airport passengers in 2025

‎The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Nasr El-Din Al-Fezzani, inaugurated yesterday the activities of the third edition of the Libya Travel and Tourism Fair, held at the Great Hall of Tripoli Sports City (1 to 3 November).‎

‎The opening ceremony was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Tunisia, the Ambassador of Indonesia, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for Tourism Affairs, along with several representatives of ministries and government institutions.‎

‎In his speech, Al-Fezzani stressed that the exhibition has become an annual event that brings together those interested in the tourism sector, and constitutes a platform to strengthen partnerships and exchange experiences.

He pointed out that this edition witnessed an increase in the number of participants by more than 50%, and a variety of programmes and activities that reflect the richness of the tourism and travel sector in Libya and the world.‎

‎The Minister also explained that the Ministry is participating this year with a special pavilion for desert tourism, as it represents a promising resource for investment and adventure.

Increased number of tourists, hotel stays, airport passengers for first half of 2025
He revealed that the indicators for the first half of 2025 are encouraging, as the sector witnessed an increase in the number of inbound tourists by 60%, and the number of guests in hotels exceeded 216,000, while the number of passengers through Libyan airports reached more than one million passengers, an increase of 9% in international flights, while the archaeological cities attracted more than 282,000 visitors.

The minister stressed that these figures reflect the improvement in the performance of the Libyan tourism sector, and the ministry’s efforts in developing infrastructure, improving services, and encouraging local and foreign investment.

The Ministry said the exhibition witnessed the wide participation of representatives of local and international companies from Tunisia, Jordan, Algeria and the Embassy of Indonesia, as well as tourism and handicraft establishments that presented distinguished presentations in the field of Libyan handicrafts.
