On the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists yesterday, the European Union commends journalists worldwide who work with integrity and courage in the face of intimidation and violence.
Freedom of expression and the media are fundamental pillars of democracy and justice.
On this occasion, we reiterate our call to all relevant Libyan authorities to ensure a safe environment that enables journalists and media workers to provide their essential services to society freely and without fear.
