Waha Oil Company announced last Tuesday (9 September) that it had successfully drilled a new gas well (BB-19) in the Faragh field, overcoming significant technical challenges.
The initial production test resulted in natural gas flow rates of approximately 28 million cubic feet and 1,290 barrels of condensate per day on the 64/64 choke.
Well BB-7 initial production rates of 1,478 bpd and 1.8 million cubic feet of gas
In a related context, Waha also reported that technical teams successfully carried out a precise maintenance operation on well (BB-7), which was completed after analysing the petrophysical properties of the sandstone reservoir. Initial tests yielded production results reaching 1,478 barrels of oil per day, along with 1.8 million cubic feet of gas.
Waha said this technical achievement was the result of close coordination between all the company’s technical departments, unlimited support from the Management Committee, and national competence that has proven its ability to face challenges and operate according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Achieving the NOC’s goals of increasing production rates
Waha emphasised that these successes represent an additional step toward achieving the National Oil Corporation’s goals of increasing production rates and ensuring the sustainability of operations, serving the national economy and strengthening Libya’s position in the global energy market.
