Libya and Italy discuss further health cooperation including, doctors exchange, training, hospital twinning and pharma manufacturing

Visiting Jordanian specialists perform 18 infertility and delayed childbearing operations in Zintan Hospital

The Undersecretary General and Acting Minister of Health, Mohammed Al-Ghouj, received Italian Ambassador to Libya Gianluca Alberini at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday where they discussed further health cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministry reported that the discussions focused on:

  • The exchange of doctors
  • The implementation of joint training programmes in general and emergency medicine
  • The twinning of Libyan and Italian hospitals to enhance the operation of healthcare facilities
  • Cooperation on developing Libya’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
