Authorities prevent 60,000 litres of petrol at Gaser Ben Ghashir petrol station from being diverted to smugglers – suspect referred to prosecutor

Coinciding with the recent fuel shortage crisis in Western Libya, and as part of the continuation of its wider anti-fuel smuggling campaign manifested in a series of raids, arrests and seizures, the Attorney General’s Office reported last Monday (11 August) that the Public Prosecution had directed Municipal Guard personnel to facilitate residents’ access to 60,000 litres of fuel allocated for public use at a petrol station in Gaser Ben Ghashir.

This came after the manager of the petrol station was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecutor on the charge of intending to divert the fuel to smugglers.
