After a ten-year hiatus, the Real Estate Registry only partially reactivated: News and analysis

The Real Estate Registry Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, issued the first electronic real estate certificate in its history yesterday.

The Authority confirmed that the electronic certificates at this stage only cover previous registrations.

This step is part of efforts to digitise services and keep pace with the digital transformation, with the aim of providing more advanced and easier services to citizens.

It is worth noting that the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister issued a decision in 2022 to reactivate the Real Estate Registry and accept the registration of lawsuits and final court rulings, after a hiatus that had lasted since 2011.
