World Bank to reopen Tripoli office after near seven-year closure

(GNU).

The World Bank has agreed to reopen its office in Tripoli‎ after a closure of nearly seven ‎‎years (since 2019).‎

‎The revelation came today after Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, received in his Tripoli Cabinet Office the Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa.‎

‎The two, the Tripoli government reported, also agreed to implement a package of initiatives with technical and advisory support from the World Bank, including enhancing transparency and disclosure, supporting digital transformation, and improving institutional performance, thus contributing to the development of government services and enhancing economic stability.‎

‎The meeting was attended from the Libyan side by the Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, and the head of the executive team for the President’s Initiatives and Strategic rojects, Mustafa Al-Mana. ‎
