Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, launched two vital projects in Tripoli yesterday. The projects are aimed at improving infrastructure and addressing sewage problems and environmental pollution.
Al-Hadba Wastewater Treatment Plant
The first project was the Al-Hadba Al-Khadra Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will operate with a treatment capacity of more than 110,000 cubic meters per day, contributing to reducing pollution and improving the city’s sewage system. This project has been stalled for more than 14 years. It should mean no more sewage is spilled, and no more foul smell, in the Wadi (seasonal stream) that enters the sea in Hay Al-Andalus near the Sug Il-Thlat Roundabout and Four Points/Sheraton area.
Wadi Al-Mejnine Surplus Discharge Line
The second project is the Wadi Al-Mejnine Surplus Discharge Line and the Marine Line, which extends for 19 kilometres and reaches out into the sea for more than 3 kilometres, to ensure safe drainage and achieve environmental balance.
During his speech opening the projects, the Prime Minister stressed that these projects come within the framework of the government’s efforts to strengthen infrastructure and improve basic services in various regions. He said as a result of these and other projects, Tripoli will turn into a developed city with clean beaches.
He noted that work is continuing to implement development projects that contribute to the development of cities and raise the standard of living of citizens, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and transparency.
