Libyan Iron and Steel Company achieves record production in HBI and DRI

‎The Misrata based state Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) announced yesterday (31 December) that it is in the process of shipping 26,300 tonnes of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) to Italy.

The consignment is being loaded at LISCO’s port onto the ship Sabel Star heading to the port of Marghera (Venice), Italy.‎

LISCO said global demand for its products, including HBI, is increasing, thereby enhancing its reputation for the quality of its products.

LISCO exceeds production targets for Q3 2024
It will be recalled that LISCO had reported on 10 October 2024 that it had exceeded its production targets at its Direct Reduction Plants for the third quarter of 2024 – including a 105.06 percent of targeted production for HBI. ‎

‎‎LISCO had reported that it had exported about 383,233 tons of HBI up to Q3 of 2024.‎
