NOC announces force majeure at Zawia port

‎Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported yesterday that its Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Processing Company has completed a project to replace the thermal synthesizer pipes of the First Methanol Plant, where about 540 pipes have been replaced.‎ This, it added, comes in preparation for its restart and increased production rates, the company said.

‎This, the NOC continued, is an achievement added to the sector’s chain of achievements, as this project usually takes at least 60 days, but the company completed it in just 20 days. This was also achieved without recording any injuries, thanks to the efficiency, efforts and professionalism of the employees, the NOC said.‎

‎The NOC reminded that its First Methanol plant was restarted on 22 November 2023, with a production rate of 600 metric tons per day, and that it seeks to raise this rate to 1,000 metric tons per day through the implementation of a set of supporting projects.‎
