Jordan lifts visa restrictions on Libyans – decision expected to increase medical tourism

Libyans will be able to obtain Jordanian visas at Amman airport

The Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association, Nael Al-Musalaha, confirmed that the Jordanian Ministry of Interior’s decision to allow Libyan nationals to enter the Kingdom without prior approval will significantly increase the number of Libyan patients coming to Jordan for treatment.

He stated in a statement to Jordan’s state Al-Rai Newspaper that hundreds of thousands of medical files are for Libyan patients who wish to communicate with their doctors or come to the places where they were diagnosed or treated in the Kingdom.

Al-Musalaha explained that the decision to consider Libya an unrestricted nationality is an important step that will facilitate the movement of Libyans to come to Jordan for any purpose, whether for the purpose of medical or regular tourism, investment, or study and training.

The news comes after the announcement of the restart on 21 October of flights to Tripoli (three flights per week) by Royal Jordanian Airlines, and the plan to start three flights to Benghazi soon. This, after a hiatus of flights of more than 10 years between the two countries.

According to the decision, Libyan nationals can now obtain an entry visa through the e-visa website, or upon arrival at border centres.
