Presidency Council welcomes yesterday’s UN Security Council statement – will participate in national dialogue within broader framework

Presidency Council objects to holding of south reconciliation event in Italy

‎Responding today to yesterday’s UN Security Council statement on Libya, the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, said he welcomed the Security Council’s statement on the situation in Libya.

‎He said the Presidency Council renews its call for the House of Representatives to reconsider its decision to unilaterally suspend the Libyan Political Agreement and to address the implications of this‎.

‎Al-Menfi said he accepted UNSMIL’s invitation to participate in a national dialogue to address the issue of the Central Bank of Libya within the framework of sovereign positions in accordance with the roadmap issued by the Libyan Political Dialogue‎ Forum

‎He also said he supports the work on what has been achieved by the 6+6 Committee and believe that resorting to the option of consulting the people on the remaining controversial articles to reach a national consensus with the aim of holding general elections under these consensuses before 17 February 2025.‎
