In a statement today, the House of Representatives (HoR) condemned attempts to storm the headquarters of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) by force under what it called ‘‘decisions and committees from illegitimate and unrelated parties (the Presidency Council) in accordance with the law appointing or dismissing the bank’s governor, deputy or board of directors’’.‎

‎The HoR members hold these persons and entities fully, legally and morally responsible before the Libyan people and the international community for such illegal acts and the consequent damage to the Libyan citizen and the country’s economy.

The HoR called on the Attorney General to urgently investigate this attack and bring ‎‎those responsible to justice.‎
