The Attorney General’s Office announced yesterday that a former Director of the International Marketing Department at the National Oil Corporation (NOC) has been detained, pending the case, for neglect over US$ 2.7 billion oil and gas exports.
The Attorney General’s Office said the Deputy Public Prosecutor examined the reports of the financial affairs related to the management of the export of oil and gas products during the years from 2011 to 2017.
These revealed to the investigator that the NOC Director of the International Marketing Department neglected the duty to collect a price due at the time, amounting to over 2.7 billion.
The Attorney General’s Office said this caused unjustified harm to the public interest.
