A new Citizen Service Centre was opened at the municipal headquarters of the Municipality of Tripoli Centre yesterday.
The opening was in the presence of the Mayor of the Tripoli Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi, the head of the Municipal Guard, Major General Rajab Al-Gatous, the Controller of Financial Services Tripoli, Issa Al-Mukhtar, the Deputy German Ambassador, Sven Krauspe, and the Regional Director of GIZ Manfred Hoare and several of GIZ representatives, members of the municipal council and directors of departments in the municipality.
The service centre is a unified services window to provide citizens with all their service and documentary needs such as building and maintenance licences etc. The municipality said the service centre comes within the framework of the programme to support municipalities in Libya implemented by GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government.
Important in enhancing communication and direct interaction citizens
The Mayor of the Municipality of Tripoli, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi, confirmed in his speech that this achievement is an important step in enhancing communication and direct interaction with citizens and will contribute to achieving their satisfaction and meeting their needs.
Improving quality of services and combating administrative corruption
He pointed out that this centre reflects the municipality’s commitment to improving the quality of services provided, stressing that the centre will work on the principles of transparency and combating administrative corruption. He added that the centre will contribute to building bridges of trust between the municipality and citizens and strengthening the common relationship between them.
GIZ Regional Director, Manfred Hoare, also expressed his optimism that the centre will be a modern and effective platform for providing municipal services and will provide a satisfactory and comfortable experience for citizens.
