The UK based David Nott Foundation informed Libya Herald that they are delivering several free training courses to Libyan doctors.

The not-for-profit charitable foundation were in Tripoli last week delivering four courses to Libyan doctors. Specifically, they are delivering a Hostile Environment Surgical Training (HEST) course, two anaesthesia courses and a focussed obstetrics and gynaecology course to over 90 doctors from Libya.

The Foundation say their goal is to upskill Libya’s doctors, ensuring they are prepared to manage any trauma case, no matter the specialty or reduced medical resources.

The Foundation said they train medical professionals to provide safe, skilled surgical care in countries impacted by war and catastrophe. It reports that it has trained over 1,600 doctors during 53 courses around the world, including in territories such as Ukraine, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
