The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Interior announced Wednesday the activation of several electronic observatories of the Border Guard Service, as members of the Al-Assa border security sector continue to carry out the tasks of securing the Libyan-Tunisian border.
The electronic observatories include six watch towers that direct the border patrol units along the Libyan Tunisian border, the Ministry explained.
This, the Ministry said, comes in implementation of its issued security plan regarding combating irregular migration and smuggling.
