On instructions from the Attorney General’s Office, 4,000 hectares of state-owned forest and pastureland in Garabulli were reclaimed by state security forces. Garabulli lies 63 km east of Tripoli along the main coastal highway.

The revelation was made on Tuesday by the Tripoli based Libyan Interior Ministry which reported that a force from the Law Enforcement Department of the General Administration of Security Operations, accompanied by patrols from the 51st Infantry Brigade of the General Staff and agricultural and forestry officials in the Garabulli region.

The Interior Ministry said the land was evacuated, the intrusions on it were removed, and it was handed over to the agricultural sector in Garabulli.

The electrical wires and telegraph poles were also removed, preserved, and handed over to the General Electricity Company of Libya in coordination with the Public Prosecution.
