UNDP Libya announced last Thursday that it had organised a 2-day training programme to equip 30 lawyers, 19 of whom are women lawyers, with the necessary knowledge and skills to promote effective governance in Libya.
The training focused on implementing legislation and promoting good governance practices at the national and local levels. Participants discussed the role of lawyers in safeguarding democratic processes based on regional best practices, as well as the inclusivity of women and youth as a means for promoting fair and representative governance at the local level.
The UNDP Local Governance Project conducted the workshop with the support of the Government of Germany.
