The Emergency Medicine and Support Centre’s (EMSC) preliminary report yesterday stated that Tripoli’s armed clashes have so far resulted in 27 deaths and more than 106 wounded. It did not provide a breakdown of the deaths and injured as to whether they were civilians or security personnel.
The EMSC also reported that it had evacuated about 234 families from the fighting areas. These included the evacuation of 23 medical personnel from the Filipino community. This came, it revealed, after it had received a call from the Philippine embassy in Tripoli to help its citizens stranded in the al-Shouk Road located within the lines of armed clashes behind Tripoli University Hospital.
The EMSC reported that the stranded Filipinos were taken to safe places without any damage or injury to the evacuation teams or the stranded.
