Ghat-Ubari road project site officially handed over to Egyptian consortium

(GNU).

Deputy Prime Minister Ramadan Abu Jinnah supervised the handing over ceremony of the implementation site of the Ghat-Ubari road project to a consortium of Egyptian companies.

The consortium was not named in the short media statement by the Tripoli-based Libyan government, but Libyan media have named the consortium as Orascom / Hassan Allam / Rowad Modern Engineering).

Libyan media also said that the dual carriageway road will be 360 km and costing ‘‘more than 926 million dinars’’ (about US$ 200 million).

The government said site handover ceremony took place in the presence of several notables, wise men and mayors of the region, and that the consortium will begin the implementation of the vital and important road for all residents of the region, which will help the delivery of services to all citizens in the region.
