The Libyan Export Promotion Centre participates in Korea Import Expo 2023 – negotiating MoU to enter market

The Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC) participated in the Korea Import Exhibition 2023 held in Seoul, Korea from 29 June to 1 July.

The Libyan team was headed by LEPC head Mohamed El-Deeb, Fawzi Wadi, Director of the Office of the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Habashi, Director of the Markets and Promotion Department, and Mohamed Al-Belaili, Director of the Information and Public Relations Office.

More than 200 companies and 34 countries participated in the exhibition, including three Arab countries, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan, in addition to Libya. Libya was participating for the first time in this exhibition, which has been taking place for twenty years.

In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Kim Byung-Kwan, President of the Korean Suppliers Association praised Libya’s participation in this exhibition and looked forward to a real partnership that pushes Libyan products to enter the Korean market soon. The LEPC reported that the Korean market has a great demand for olive oil products, fish and food industries (pasta), and said it was for this reason that it participated with six companies. These are:

  • Al-Sahel Holding Group
  • Al-Dafnia Complex, on behalf of Whiba Holding Group
  • Al-Mishkat Company for Agricultural and Animal Production
  • Celine Company for Food Industries
  • Cloud Rain Company for Olive Oil
  • Libya Fish Company for Marine Products

The LEPC reported that LEPC head Deeb looks forward to benefiting from this exhibition and opening the space for companies to enter this important market within the framework of opening new markets for Libyan products.

It also reported that negotiations are under way to sign a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the entry of Libyan products into the Korean market.
