The National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported yesterday that Mellitah Oil and Gas Company succeeded in returning to production gas well No. CW04 located on the Sabrata offshore platform (Bahr Al-Salam field). The well had been out of service since 28 January 2021 due to technical problems.

The total production of the well is about 37 million cubic feet per day of gas, and the amount of condensate is estimated at about 1,000 barrels per day.

The NOC said the Sabrata offshore platform is one of the largest production platforms in Libya, and this well represents an important part of the production operations on the platform.

Its reopening comes as part of the company’s overall efforts to increase production and make the most of available resources.
