Libya’s Tripoli-based Deputy Prime Minister – Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, met with several experts at the World Bank who specialize in the field of human resources, training and development, in Washington DC last Tuesday.
During the meeting, several issues related to the World Bank’s interventions in the health sector, especially the training of health workers, were discussed.
The Ministry reported that the Minister of Health stressed the importance of enhancing areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the World Bank, considering the World Bank’s projects as one of the most important projects that give life to the various health sectors.
The Minister of Health expressed the Ministry of Health’s keenness to build the human capacities of the cadres working in the health field and to prepare a pivotal training plan in the service provision sites.
According to the Ministry, the international expert at the World Bank, Jim Quest, expressed his understanding of all the requirements of the Ministry of Health, while the international expert, Chris Hernand, reviewed the areas and places of the World Bank’s interventions, the possibilities available to increase them, and the joint work spaces that meet the needs of the Ministry of Health and its various facilities.
