Libya’s Emergency Medicine Services Centre (EMSC) reports that an Italian Surgeon has conducted examinations and open-heart paediatric surgery.
This comes within the framework of activating Libya’s programme to increasingly localise treatment and provide assistance to citizens.
The Italian medical team is led by Dr Fiore Salvador, Paediatric Heart Surgery and Transplant Specialist and is assisted by Libyan medical staff affiliated with the EMSC.
Together, they conducted 125 examinations and five open-heart paediatric surgeries. All five surgeries were reported successful.
The EMSC reported the expected successive arrival of other international medical teams.
