The UNDP announced Thursday that it has signed an MoU with Benghazi University.
The UNDP says this is part of its Local Peacebuilding and Resilience efforts through investing in the future of the youth of Benghazi.
Through this MoU, the UNDP says it will be working closely in several areas, such as:
- Youth entrepreneurship to support the establishment of micro and small enterprises among university graduates.
- Peacebuilding through research, knowledge production, and awareness raising in cooperation with civil society organizations.
- Cooperation in the area of environment, climate change and energy.
- Strengthening of students’ understanding of democratic processes and good governance.
During the signing event UNDP Resident Representative Marc-André Franche said: “Youth empowerment remains at the heart of UNDP’s Local Peacebuilding and Resilience efforts, and we look forward to partnering with academia to support initiatives targeting youth across Libya”.
