Ministry of Economy and Trade discusses mechanism of activating transit trade, free zones and Africa Transport and Transit Trade Forum

Ministry of Economy discusses activating role of Credit Guarantee Fund in supporting the economy: Report and analysis

The mechanism for activating transit trade, free zones and the latest developments and preparations for organizing the Africa Transport and Transit Trade Forum and Exhibition were discussed during a meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Tripoli last Wednesday.

The meeting was headed by the Undersecretary of the Free Zones, Nouri Al-Gatati, which included the Head of the Chambers of Commerce Department and the Head of the Transit Trade and Free Zones Department in the Ministry and the Misrata, Hilal Al-Asimah, Western Mountains, Al-Margab, Derna and Tobruk Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

The attendees also discussed the obstacles facing the Chambers of Commerce in performing their work and ways to overcome them and the Undersecretary of the Ministry stressed the need to activate industrial and agricultural projects in all regions.

On the side-lines of the meeting, the latest developments, and preparations for organizing the Africa Transport and Transit Trade Forum and Exhibition, which is supervised by the Ministry of Economy and Trade and with the support of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, were discussed.

The pan-African event will be held in January 2023 in Algeria in the context of promoting transit trade towards Africa.
