The Audit Bureau head, Khaled Shakshak, demanded that the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) be more transparent in providing information for its reports.

The Audit Bureau called on the CBL to provide full information and data on its activities and that CBL personnel cooperate with the Audit Bureau in compiling its annual reports.

The Audit Bureau statement came in response to the CBL’s defence of the reservations that the Audit Bureau had raised in its 2021 Annual Report.

The Audit Bureau said, as is the case after every annual report, the CBL attempts to win over public opinion through its reactions to Audit Bureau criticisms. It said the CBL reports are not up to international standards and are truncated.
