The flow of people and goods is increasing at the Tunisian-Libyan Ras Jedir border crossing, the Director of the Tunisian Customs Office, Omar Aref, told Tunisia’s TAP news agency yesterday.
It reported the official as saying that there were one million arrivals and 720,000 departures from early January to 8 August this year, averaging 8,000 travellers per day. With regards to the number of cars, 575,000 entered Tunisia through the border crossing and a further 465,000 left .
TAP also reported that over 40,000 trucks crossed the border to Libya as part of export activities, representing a trade volume of more than 4 million dinars.
