Newly appointed National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman Farhat Bengdara said Libya’s oil production had risen to 1.025 million barrels per day (bpd), the official state Libyan news agency, LANA, reported today.
It said Bengdara anticipated production will rise to 1.2 million bpd within 10 days.
Last week the NOC had confirmed that oil production had risen to 870,000 bpd after the lifting of force majeure and resumption of Libya’s oil production.
Force majeure had been lifted only 24 hours after the NOC board and its former chairman Mustafa Sanalla had been replaced by caretaker prime minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba in what was widely seen as a political deal with eastern military commander Khalifa Hafter.
Aldabaiba insists there was no political deal.
