London, 28 December 2021:

After the live TV transmission of the House of Representatives’ (HoR) session had been abruptly terminated yesterday because of disorder, it transpires the House arrived at several conclusions which were published on its official media sites.

  1. The HoR confirmed that until yesterday it had not been addressed officially and directly by the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) for the next election date to be set for 24 January 2022.
  2. The HoR confirmed the continuation of its Road Map Committee (formed by HoR Resolution No. (13) of 2021) in its work to draw up a new road map for the next phase and communicate with all concerned parties.
  3. The HoR decided to summon the President and members of the High National Elections Committee (HNEC) to the next session to hear from them about all the obstacles to the electoral process contained in their report.
  4. The HoR decided to vote to consider the British ambassador a ‘‘persona non grata’’ and will issue a decision in this regard. The Libyan Foreign Ministry is to communicate with the concerned parties to inform it of this decision.

The session was suspended until today.
