London, 18 October 2021:
The General Assembly of the Libyan Post, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Holding Company (LPTIC), headed by Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, issued a decision (4/2021) yesterday appointing a new board of directors for the LPTIC to be headed by Mohamed Bin Ayad.
Bin Ayad, who used to be in Libyana Mobile Phone Company, replaces former chairman Faisel Gergab.
LPTIC is the state holding company in control of all of Libya’s major state telecoms companies, including Al-Madar mobile and Libyana mobile company.
Libyan media have raised questions about Bin Ayad allegedly regarding a transaction with a local bank.
