London, 31 August 2021:

An industrial complex consisting of eight factories for the cement, heat insulators, gypsum, moulds, and other building materials is to be activated. The industrial complex is to be located between the cities of Mizda and Bani Walid.

The news was revealed yesterday after the meeting of the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, and the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Ahmed Abu Heisa at the Oil Ministry in Tripoli.

The complex will include a residential village with integrated facilities, and will combine training, rehabilitation, health insurance and employment for 4,000 young people, the Industry Ministry reported.

The complex’s eight factories will be:

1-A factory for ordinary Portland cement with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons.

2-A factory for white Portland cement with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons.

3- A factory for cement resistant to sulphates and salts with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons.

4- A factory for rock wool/sound and heat insulators with an annual production capacity of 35,000 tons.

5- A factory for loose gypsum with a production capacity of 250 thousand tons annually.

6- A factory for moulds used in building materials with an annual production capacity of 1.7 million tons.

7- A factory for gypsum boards supplying 12 million square meters annually of suspended ceilings.

The Ministry of Industry said this project under study is considered one of the largest projects in the Libyan state in terms of preparing factories and the jobs it provides for Libyan youth, as well as in terms of spatial development events and contributing to decentralization.
