The head of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Raeid signed an economic cooperation agreement with the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wahiba Bahloul last Sunday.
The signing took place within the activities of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum held from 29-30 May held Algiers.
The General Union of Chambers said the agreement contributes to empowering the Chambers of Commerce in the two countries and facilitating means of cooperation between them and encouraging the sponsorship of trade and industrial forums and conferences between the two countries.
It reported that the Forum discussed the possibility of establishing economic development projects in Libya in cooperation with Algeria in several areas, including the field of renewable energy and food security, and emphasizing the reopening of the Libyan Algerian Al-Debdeb border crossing for ease of commercial movement between the two countries, in addition to the resumption of air and sea navigation, which contributes to reviving the economies of the two countries.
