On the side-lines of the official visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to Tripoli yesterday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation and Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The MoU was signed at the Prime Ministers’ Office yesterday by Libya’s General Union of Chambers’ head Mohamed Raeid and his Spanish counterpart Inmaculada Riera. The signing ceremony was attended by Libyan Prime Minister Abd Alhamid and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to Libya.

During the meeting, Raeid expressed his hope to further strengthen the Spanish-Libyan partnership, stressing the importance of exchanging information and expertise, promoting investment between the two countries, enhancing cooperation in the field of training, and increasing trade turnover.

For her part, Riera affirmed that the Spanish Chamber of Commerce is ready to cooperate extensively with the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, to organize exhibitions and trade missions and intensify business visits, in addition to organizing training workshops in many commercial and economic fields.
