London, 26 May 2021:

The Italian Embassy in Tripoli reported yesterday that the reopening of the Italian Consulate General in Benghazi has been delayed.

The Embassy revealed that the new Consul, Carlo Batori, tested positive for Coronavirus in control tests conducted in the run-up to his departure to Benghazi.

His departure was scheduled for today and will now be ‘‘postponed for a few days’’, the Embassy explained.
