Major Italian companies discuss Benghazi reconstruction

London, 27 May 2021:

Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture hosted a virtual meeting last week with several ‘‘major Italian companies’’ on the reconstruction of the city.

The meeting included the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Municipality of Benghazi and a number of Libyan business owners.

The Ministry of Economy reported that attendees discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the private sector in the two countries and facilitate procedures for companies and business owners.

It reported that Italian companies expressed their desire to visit Benghazi and the eastern region, and to establish a permanent exhibition of Italian products and industries, and to participate in the implementation of reconstruction projects in cooperation with specialized Libyan companies.
