London, 9 April 2021:
The organization of the Second Fish and Fishing Exhibition and achieving the direct exports of Libyan fish to Europe were the topics of discussion yesterday between the head of the Libya Export Promotion Centre (LEPC), Mohamed Aldeeb, and the Minister of Marine Wealth, Adel Sultan.
The LEPC reported that the discussions came within the framework of its endeavour to rehabilitate the fishery exports sector.
The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation between the Ministry and the LEPC and the organization of training courses to identify good health practices during fishing and handling of fish targeted for export.
Improving the infrastructure of the landing centres to achieve the requirements of internationally recognized food quality systems, in order to help facilitate and accelerate the acceptance of our fish exports in the global markets, were also discussed.
