Ministry of Economy meets Chambers of Commerce and private business sector

London, 24 March 2021:

Mohamed Hwej, the Minister of Economy and Trade, met with several Chambers of Commerce, including Mohamed Raied, the head of the General Union of Chambers, and a large number of business leaders at the Ministry’s headquarters Monday.

During the meeting, the mechanism for forming and activating the role of Chambers and means of providing goods to the local market and the difficulties facing business owners in supplying them were discussed.

The Minister emphasized the importance of the private sector as the de facto partner of the state in developing the local economy and industry.

Workshop on the reality of local industries and supporting exports under regional agreements held under the slogan “Industry, Quality, Trust.”

The possibility of activating stalled projects in all regions of the country and the resumption of work on them in partnership with the private sector (PPP), was also raised.

Expressing his happiness at this meeting and the constructive dialogue that took place in it, Raied said, “The support of businessmen at this stage is a very necessary matter that benefits the business owners and the state alike” hoping mechanisms can be set that contribute to the advancement of the private sector in cooperation with the Ministry.
