Both UNSMIL and the Tobruk House of Representatives (HoR) condemned the attack on civilians in Sebha during yesterday’s 10 anniversary 17 February 2011 celecbrations.
UNSMIL strongly condemned what it said ‘‘appears to be a targeted mortar attack in Sebha in al-Manshiya district during the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the revolution yesterday, which killed a child and injured 29 others, including two children.
The Mission calls on authorities to ensure an independent, impartial and prompt investigation into this heinous attack on civilians and calls for perpetrators to be brought to justice’’.
Meanwhile, HoR Official Spokesman, “Abdalla Belheeg said the HoR ‘‘condemns in the strongest terms the targeting of civilians in the city of Sabha during their celebration of the tenth anniversary of the seventeenth revolution of February, in which a child was killed, and a number of people were wounded.
Calling it a ‘‘cowardly terrorist act’’, he said the HoR ‘‘called on all security agencies to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.’’
