Zawia Refinery yesterday announced the resumption of oil derivatives production units after they had stopped production for several months due to a crude supply stoppage.
It announced that on Monday (2 October) the second improvement (Platforming) units were initiated to produce benzene, cooking gas and light naphtha and products transferred to tanks. Yesterday the refinery stated that all the technical difficulties associated with the restart process had been overcome.
Equally, it restarted the second refining (Topping Unit) unit, technicians were able to operate steam turbines to produce electric power to reduce dependence on the public electricity network, and then resume the export of crude oil through the company’s port with a first shipment estimated at 630 thousand barrels. of crude oil.
