The Tripoli Sports and Recreation Space at the former headquarters of the Girls Military College, has been established by the Municipality of Central Tripoli to be a park for families in the capital, the Municipality reported on Wednesday.
The Municipality said the General Authority for Youth and Sports contributed to the equipping of the tennis, basketball, volleyball, and the five-a-side football pitches and other recreational sports.
Tripoli residents are relieved that the former headquarters of the Girls Military College has been converted into a communal space. Since the 2011 revolution it had been occupied by various militias who often aggravated residents and the area.
