London, 28 June 2020:
Libya’s quasi-state Economic and Social Development Fund (ESDF) reported Friday that it will restart production at its Sug Il Khamis cement factory owned by the Ahlia Cement Company. ESDF owns 33 percent of Ahlia.
The factory is located in the Sug Il Khamis area which was part of the battlefront in the war on Tripoli waged by the Khalifa Hafter forces. With the war ended and Hafter’s forces pushed out completely from Western Libya, ESDF said it can restart production at the factory.
The factory has a nameplate production capacity of one million tons of cement per day.
