(NCDC).

London, 8 June 2020:

Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported a further 31 new Coronavirus cases over the last two days to bring the country’s total to 270 cases. They also reported a new recovery to bring the total to 53 with still only 5 deaths.

The new cases are spread between Tripoli, Misrata, Surman and Sebha with new cases, new arrivals from abroad and cases that had mixed with previously known cases.

Yesterday, the Tripoli government also extended the country’s 6pm to 6am curfew for another 10 days with a total curfew for the south of Libya and a ban on travel between cities.

The spike in cases is put to increased testing, increased repatriation of citizens stranded abroad and a failure to impose the curfew outside of Tripoli.
