London, 14 April 2020:
Water is expected to return to Greater Tripoli and many parts of the Western region within the next 48 hours, Tripoli Central Municipality confirmed today.
Water had been cut for two weeks. The internationally recognized government in Tripoli blamed the cut on Khalifa Hafter. There is evidence that it was carried out for a personal grievance after an individual was ‘‘arbitrarily’’ arrested.
Meanwhile, the area has been suffering from power cuts as well as increased bombing of Tripoli by the Hafter forces. The region is also under a Coronavirus curfew.
