Libya’s Ministry of Governance and UNICEF sign two year agreement to support youth initiatives and vocational training

London, 6 June 2019:

Libya’s Ministry of Local Governance and UNICEF signed a two-year work plan (2019-2020) on 2 June to support youth initiatives in selected municipalities and provide vocational training.

The 2019-2020 workplan covers a set of activities that are already on track such as partnering with  municipal councils and local CSOs around two of the interventions. These are support for youth initiatives in selected municipalities and vocational training for young women and men covering mobile and computer maintenance, TECHcamps, Montage and photography, graphic design, hair dressing, and  home based food production.

The workplan also includes an intervention on child and adolescents friendly municipality (CFM), starting with the CFM Award, and moving next year towards further advocacy for budgeting for children and adolescents.

In addition, the workplan covers the expansion of training of adolescents and young people on transformational leadership and innovative thinking to support their social enterprises with the aim to support 48 enterprises by young people all through the 2019-2020 period.
